Watoto wa Dunia (Children of the World) will be hosting a fun-filled family-friendly
celebration featuring the music of renowned drummers Chata Addy and Shidah. We will be
serving delicious Kenyan food, teaching the children wonderful art activities, and
showing our new DVD about our work in Kenya. Our fairly traded handicrafts are also
available for sale. The event is a fundraiser to support our Portland based and Kenyan
programs including a new Women and Children's Empowerment village for AIDS orphans and
widows. Come join us for a night of community and music!
- May 6th through 8th, at Menucha Retreat Center in Corbett, OR: Kenya Trip Volunteer Orientation.
This is a two and a half day mandatory orientation for volunteers participating in the summer 2005 Kenya program. Topics include travel safety, Swahili, cultural competency, racism, colonization, HIV/AIDS, among others.
